Minor Poet made the trip down from the River City last week to promote this past May's release of their six-song EP, "The Good News." While the previous album was released via Egghunt, this new effort sees the group added to the roster of famed Sub Pop Records. It's a fun offering, quirky and well made.
Sammi Lanzetta has been making major moves in advance of her second record, relocating to Brooklyn as she further sharpens her sound to a rockier point than ever before. If the two new singles she's put out recently through 6131 Records are any indication, the forthcoming record is going to be hot stuff. It's due out November 1st, and we'll make sure to come back with a review of this new effort, titled -- "Ceiling Mirror."
C-Ville's indie-pop outfit, Stray Fossa opened the evening to great effect. Channeling an atmospheric, low-fi vibe through the capable talents of its three members, the band has been making waves on a regional level with its just-released EP: "Laridae."
A good time was had by all, and then we went home.
