Big Night for Local Bands at the NorVa: Court Street Company. Fox and the Bear. The Lazy Dangers. & Bended Light.

It was a monster night at the NorVa for a collection of local bands who at first glance don't really seem to have much connection. I've spoke at length on all of the bands involved, recently at that. Fox and the Bear are probably my favorite folk act running right now. The Lazy Dangers have a fun, eclectic vibe to them. Bended Light is steadily rising as a jam/roots band to pay attention to locally. And Court Street Company is making serious waves for such a young band. In fact, I was a little shocked to see Idobi Radio cover this -- they don't usually send someone out unless there's some serious buzz. This suggests to me that there must be some real attention being paid to their efforts, given that it was their name at the lead of Idobi's coverage. Which, if true, brings me no small amount of joy. They're a great bunch of kids who are putting in some tremendous effort. I'd love to see them break big.

With a Veer nominated music video that's clever as hell in its execution, maybe it checks out that folks are taking notice. In any event, congrats to all involved -- playing a main stage like the NorVa is a major accomplishment.
